Watch The Hybrid 2024 Corvette E-Ray Get Sideways In The Snow And Pretend You’re There

It seems like we know what the electric-hybrid 2024 Corvette E-Ray will look like when it debuts. GM has already shown the car slowly driving all four wheels in the snow in a little tease, as well, so we’ve confirmed it’s all-wheel drive. Now, thanks to CorvetteNut on YouTube, there’s a lot more to see of the car’s winter handling.

This is good timing from GM (or, I guess, GM via CorvetteNut) because the weather outside is indeed frightful. Imagine if those Seattle drivers all had all-wheel drive Corvettes! And also spiked tires! And were trained drivers!

It’s fun to watch the Corvette malamute around, though there isn’t much that’s particularly edifying, at least to my eye. The big figure everyone wants to hear is the combined power of the electric motor and the gas motor. Second to that, perhaps, people would like to know if the vehicle can go a certain distance on Pure EV mode.

This video does not obviously tell one any of that. The tagline at the end, however, is interesting:

Unwrap

Is this just some random text for this holiday from a bored copywriter at Weber Shandwick (GM’s agency), or, perhaps a hint that we’ll get to hear more from GM about the E-Ray this year? I’m guessing the former.

  1. I don’t think I’m going to like hearing how much this thing weighs. I bet that thing is morbidly obese, if you assume a Miata is a healthy weight for a sports car.

    1. A c8 already weighs 1k+lbs more than a Miata. Not in the same realm. IMO the 4k lbs this is going to weigh is going to be perfectly reasonable for what it is. Compare to NSX, The hybrid Ferraris, etc…
