Hey y’all! This is just your periodic reminder that we have an excellent newsletter you can subscribe to right now. If you’re not a subscriber, here’s a special preview of what these emails look like. In our most recent TSB (Technically Superior Blog) we tackle how some of our competitors look at incorporating AI into their article production and why we don’t think that’s a good fit for us.
Here’s what you get when you sign up:
WEDNESDAY – TSB (Technically Superior Blog)
The TSB will include what we think is the biggest (or most interesting) news of the week with extra analysis courtesy of our own staff. Our dear friend Patrick George will be helming the email to start, and it’s always worth hearing what he has to say about the automotive industry.
FRIDAY – RECALL NOTICE (Blogs of the Week)
Presenting the only recall notice you’ll be excited to get! Can’t read every Autopian story the second they come out? Don’t worry, we’ll let you know what’s going on to end every week. It’s like TGIF with slightly less Bronson Pinchot.
Also, if you become a member, you’ll also get a bonus Member’s Only email on Mondays with updates, nonsense, ephemera. [Editor’s Note: I’ll be writing plenty of emails to members about what’s going on in my life here in LA. Some weird things have been happening in the office — it’s mostly my fault. -DT].
So, are there articles that appear only in the newsletter and not on the website? I subscribe to the RSS feed so that I don’t miss anything… but am I missing content that’s available only in the newsletter?
For lack of a better place to ask… how do we change our usernames? I’ve change it via the account button on the top left, and I’ve changed it in Gravatar, but it remains the old name… what gives?
It’s a weird system quirk: matt at theautopian.com with your current name, email assigned to the account, and whatever you want it to be. I like BolognaBurrito, though!
How do I get notifications to replies to my comments? Is that possible?
Click the little bell icon (I sound like a damn YouTuber) next to the “Post Comment” button each time you post, and you’ll receive an email every time someone replies.
Do I have to click that bell each time? And isn’t there a way to simply get notifications within the site itself? I don’t want email notifications; I’d ideally like notifications in some sort of tool-bar or icon on the site. I’m not sure why I can’t figure this out…
NGL, this makes me want to try a bologna burrito. Add a little mayo, egg, hot sauce and cheese and gosh…it might be good?
The TSB’s are really good, subscribed and also plan to go through previous ones. I’m most excited that my account is now fixed and I can post 80% useless comments from now on! (created one right before the transition and despite several emails back and forth could never get it to log in until trying just now)
As to the point of that newsletter, I feel like you are one of the 3 websites I visit multiple times a day just to see if there’s anything new I missed, like defector is in that email. (arstechnica and damninteresting are the other two, also worth subscribing to… I’ll get around to it now that I can log in…) What sets all 3 of these apart from typical websites is the content may come out well after competing websites, but a lot of thought and analysis went into whatever written, and not just copy pasta from some press release or other website / blog.
I enjoyed the latest newsletter. Fun, informative, and it didn’t ask me for money.
If you frequent the site regularly, you might not need an email newsletter, but it is nice that the Autopian reaches out to the members. I get newsletters from other companies, but they’re less personal and less interesting. The A.I. article today was enlightening, and to that end, I hope the Autopian can keep humans on staff and gain popularity in the market.
Nooooooo !!!!!
Also please stop spamming my inbox, i didn’t suscribe, i did unsubscribe twice, and yet i get this shitty (not only yours, but all) newsletter coming.
That’s super weird and shouldn’t happen? I’m going to email you and we can figure out what’s going on.
Comment (I felt bad for Matt that no one replied so far).
But seriously folks, it is a great newsletter. You do want to receive it.
