Our friend (and your friend) Syd has been hard at work and we now have new dad hats and a new, larger sticker. You can buy these hats online now in our online store or you can go to Lime Rock Park this weekend and get some from Syd (along with other merch) during the IMSA race. More details below.

I’ve been waiting to show y’all these from the moment we got the design from Syd. They’re a high quality cotton canvas material with fancy embroidery. You’re going to look like a Rockefeller in these. Also, they’re just $28 (before S&H), which is an anything-but-fancy price.

A New Sticker/Revised Sticker

Many of you asked for a wordmark sticker in a more traditional bumper sticker size. Here you go! It’s about seven inches long and just $5 (before S&H), Also, the existing logo stickers were a little small, so we’ve made them bigger.

We Have A Few Pro-Car Shirts Left!

Our plan is to always keep shirts/hoodies and stickers in stock. Currently, the hats are limited edition, but I like them so much we’ll probably keep them in the store if they’re popular. The black Pro-Car shirts are limited edition and we’re already selling out of sizes. If you want one in a specific size, I’d suggest grabbing it soon.

Obviously, our merch is done by the incomparable Syd at One Hell Of A Town. She’ll be at the big IMSA race at Lime Rock this weekend and she’ll have a few Autopian items with her as well if you didn’t want to wait for something to ship. Just look for the OHOAT banners and her awesome Porsche 944.

Members Get 10% Off

Guess what! All members, whether Cloth or RCL, get 10% off their order. I’ll put up a post with the secret code and include it in the member email on Monday. In the interim, you can always email me or go to our Member Lounge in the Discord. If you go to Lime Rock definitely get a pic of yourself rocking gear and send it to us.

  1. I’d prefer a hat without a “tramp stamp”, but the biggest thing for me is the size is not mentioned, so the choice is no. It takes 24 1/2″ to get around the partially haired zeppelin that genetics has dealt me.

    1. As a fellow member of the “one size doesn’t fit all” camp, I share your pain.

(Duluth Trading Company carries true XL/XXL baseball caps and other hats. They cater to the generously proportioned folks. No affiliation, just a happily-lidded size 7 3/4!)

  2. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it a million times. Who is designing your stuff? I would love to buy your swag if you could design some that was wearable, or a sticker that wasn’t just in your face and loud.

Seriously, you guys are messing this up. Merch is a great way to make money, but you keep putting out this low quality stuff. The hat I can’t even really get into its so bad, on a few levels. Your shirts use low quality cotton and are uncomfortable compared to all modern cotton blends. And your overall design and vibe you guys push is just not doing it. Please hire someone who has experience to do the next round. Maybe a new store if they are the ones leading you in this direction.

I love the autotopian, but just can’t buy what you have for sale. Sorry if this is harsh, but someone needs to be honest here.

    1. Hey Greg! We actually switched shirt vendors after the original round of shirts. The new ones are pretty soft and nice. OHOAT does great work.

        1. Let me know how it goes! When I first got here I was not happy with the shirt quality either, but most of us have ordered stuff from OHOAT and it’s always been good quality, which is one of the reasons why we switched to her.

  3. I do love hats. I love them enough to know that this is not the hat for me. I will keep my finger hovering over the mouse button though. When a trucker hat is available, snap back or stretch fit, I shall lower my finger and depress the button.

    1. Conversely, my Midwestern childhood memories of foam dome seed caps preclude me from buying trucker hats. This style is perfect for me.
Hopefully there will be enough demand that they’ll bring out one for you as well. Like cars, it would be damn boring if we all liked the exact same stuff

  4. This is exciting…was waiting for a sticker that said the site’s name in big letters…also like the hat (could be a little cheaper but sounds like good quality)

  5. Autopian is about celebrating and having fun with cars, the quirkier the better. Nothing about your new hat has any sense of style, fun, or design. Even the cutesy saying is not all that cutesy. It is all way too corporate-branding, which is very un-Autopian.

May I suggest that you actually hire Syd, who makes fun designs, to decorate your hats? Or one of your in-house designers? Or have an open contest from your viewers, many of whom seem to be quite talented. Then I might be willing to pay a designer-priced $28 for one and represent the Autopian insanity.

Sorry for the negativity. Just trying to provide some feedback.

    1. Negative feedback is just as helpful as positive feedback. They do look kinda like something the company I work for or one of our vendors would hand out at an event.
Sure you take it, cause you don’t want to be rude, but it never makes it out of the plastic it’s wrapped in, and nobody but the oldest, baldest, guy in the warehouse will ever wear it.
The Autopian has some younger staff members. What do they think about this hat?
Where’s the pizzazz, where’s the color?
TBH It’s a grayscale Camry of a hat.

        1. While we’re griping, I do wish the logo would get a makeover. I mentioned it to torch on reddit when the site went live. It’s… Shockingly ugly and amateurish to me.

Obviously it works for them, so they’re right to ignore me, but it’s a non negligible reason I haven’t signed up for a membership yet. No sticker, shirt, hat or badge bearing that logo will come near this house.

          1. I wear my membership shirt begrudgingly. I don’t love the “we know what we’ve got” sentiment.
Sure it’s fun, but also a little meh.
            They could do better.

        2. Oh. You’re missing out. There are so many fun contraptions to drive and get proficient at in a warehouse.
          We’ve got:
          Roll clamps
          Single doubles
          Slip sheets
          Order pickers
          Box clamps
          Spade lifts
          Etc etc.
There is constant competition amongst coworkers about who can drive what lift the best.
          It’s a blast.
Who can load a 53’ trailer with 28 40”x48” pallets of freight the fastest?
Gotta mind the load pattern and weight distribution. You lose the game if the poor truck driver hits a scale and has to come back overweight on the nose or tail.
It’s pretty much a racing/puzzle game of a job and it’s absolutely great.
          Not for everyone though.

        3. this style hat doesn’t really fit or stay on anyones head with hair, I literally couldn’t get one on my head. This is Dave Tracy’s dream hat. Fits bald guys and has a shitty jeep motto or whatever on it.

    2. Thanks for the feedback! Syd actually has designed a few items for us (a new sticker + something real special) but, because of the usual supply nonsense, it’s been taking forever to get in stock.

  6. Um, that “This Side Up” hat is cringingly reminiscent of a tee shirt I remember from my punk rock days that was a declaration of one’s sexual preferences. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
