Who among us hasn’t come to the end of a racing weekend wishing we could’ve had just a bit more time to sharpen our skills from behind the wheel? Great news, now you can run virtually endless laps through the day and the night at this home in Gilbert, Arizona on your own personal go-kart track. You’ll just need somewhere around $20 million, but some of the stuff on this property almost makes it sound worth it.

Located at 21423 S 147th St, Gilbert, AZ 85298, just southeast of Phoenix, this mansion is perhaps the most normal part of a property that spans some 4.35 acres. The main house features natural wood flooring, five bedrooms, and six bathrooms across more than 9,300 square feet of space. Two of those bedrooms are master bedrooms. How do you end up with two master bedrooms? Be insanely rich or maybe on the way to a divorce. Or both!

Either way, it also happens to have a two-story closet, a shower with an integrated aquarium, and no fewer than three separate fireplaces. As a home on its own, this is an incredibly luxurious property. At the same time, we haven’t even talked about the spa building.

Separate from the main house is a near-4,000 sq ft day spa. Inside of it, you’ll find a sauna, a table shower, a massage room, a steam room, a cold plunge, and a hot tub. Why would anyone need such a place to rest and recuperate? Wouldn’t you love that after an entire day lapping your own go-kart track with five turns and a bridge?

The Track

The course, which I’m calling Clubman Stage 6, features fiveish turns starting with a hairpin mere meters from the finish line. That leads directly onto the back straight away and culminates in a hard 90-degree left turn that could be taken as two apexs.

It takes the drivers into a sweeping right-hand hairpin not too far afield from the shape of The Carousel. Finish that bend and you’ll see a pair of short sharp left-handers that could also be a single sweeping apex for those who prefer it. A bridge then leads to a gentle right and back onto the main straightaway. Seeing as it’s a private course, you could go backward for all we care.

It’s a tight but interesting course that beats anything I could fit in my backyard. The entire course has spring-backed bumper guards to help keep cars safely on the track. It even features a pit garage that doubles as a short covered section of the main course.

Track lighting allows for racing throughout the night. Heck, you could even host a 24-hour race at this house. Two natural-looking ponds are integrated into the edges of the course as well. Additional foliage appears throughout the property.

Other Play Areas

Somehow, the go-kart track might not even be the wildest part of this property, depending on your personal taste. For example, there’s a personal gun range here, too. It has not one but two stalls and an observation area. It’s part of the 6,000 sq ft “man cave” that also includes a putting green and a “cutting-edge” golf simulator. A private indoor batting cage provides one more way to hit a small ball with a club of sorts.

There’s also a full gym but this isn’t just a space for the super athletic. A four-station gaming area comes complete with surround-view monitors, every modern gaming console, and footrests. There’s even a dance studio, a covered outdoor dining area, and a fully covered and ventilated basketball court. It’s fully equipped with a digital scoreboard and stands.

Interested parties can find the home on Zillow where the estimated monthly payment is $117,950. That’s right, the cost of a brand new Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing with the stick shift, the carbon fiber 1 package, and the red accent package… every month.

Matt has assured me that, if 1,000,000 of you sign up for a Vinyl or better membership, we’ll buy this house as The Autopian Clubhouse and invite members over.

  1. I’m generally not a raging environmentalist, but I do recognize reality, and I try to live efficiently. I love a good ICE engine, I don’t own an EV.
But look at all the greenery, grass, and water features; there are pools, ponds, fountains everywhere…. in F-ing Arizona.

    God I hate rich people.

    1. Hey now, once in a while they get too deep into an expensive project and sell it off cheap to us poors, that’s how we got my dad his cobra kit. Well worth the 14 hour drive to the dead center of the seventh circle of hell to get him what he’s dreamed of since before I was born.

    1. But it CAN buy go-kart tracks, which are kind of like taste except you get to ride really fast on them instead of just pretentiously pretending not to enjoy them on the internet

  2. True story, Word of Honor:
Joseph Heller, an important and funny writer
    now dead,
and I were at a party given by a billionaire
    on Shelter Island.
I said, “Joe, how does it make you feel
to know that our host only yesterday
    may have made more money
    than your novel ‘Catch-22’
has earned in its entire history?”
And Joe said, “I’ve got something he can never have.”
And I said, “What on earth could that be, Joe?”
And Joe said, “The knowledge that I’ve got enough.”
    Not bad! Rest in peace.

  3. I have often dreamed of a track or even space for a track, and I won’t ding that.

I will say this property as a whole looks really ugly. It looks like an industrial agricultural operation, with that biggest building looking like the chicken coop. All it’s missing are the big ass fans to draw the hideous ammonia smell out.

Even the interior pics strongly suggest – or literally are – big Steel Building energy, where you want to enclose a space big enough to build aircraft, but live inside it instead. The kind of stuff you build over literal acres because you need to stamp parts or render beeves or what have you.

  4. I love this.
Finally, some rich people living their best lives in a way I approve of.

That’s exactly what I would probably do if I fell into a big pile of cash.

I’ve got nothing but applause for this story.

No harsh criticism or judgements whatsoever…

  5. The extravagance in Arizona says “young Major League Baseball player with a massive contract who lives near spring training facilities.”

Not doxxing anyone, but apparently the main house was owned by an MLB player, however he sold it before the man cave, track, etc. were built. The buyer was a somewhat older married physician who therefore has no excuse (or taste, apparently).

But the track looks awesome and 10/10 would definitely hoon if given the opportunity.

  6. I write a “look at this rich asshole’s house” blog and this got me thinking hey, didn’t I do a house with a private go kart track a couple years ago? Went down a rabbit hole and found out it was actually all the way back in 2015 – at least for the $17 million then you’d get 720 acres and a pool so big they insisted on referring to it as a “poolpond.”

  7. Google StreetView’s images are from December 2017, when all that was there was the house, the garage/mancave building, and the picnic pavilion, surrounded by turf – hard to decide which is a more wasteful landscaping choice in Arizona. Visible in the driveway are three modified Jeep Wranglers Unlimited, a Ford F-150 (likely a Raptor), and a Kia Rondo that I assume belongs to the housekeeper. In these impoverished before times the homeowner had to make do with a single basketball hoop in the driveway.

  8. The actual racetracks that are for sale is a much better Autopian club purchase, and going by Jason’s asset valuations, Why hasn’t Mercedes bought a few already?

  9. I can see a typical Saturday with my college buddies. We each get one target at 25 yards, a handgun and 15 rounds. The starting grid is determined by the most rounds in the bullseye ring. We then race for however long the electric karts will let us. Winner gets to choose the game for the gaming chairs. Once the karts are done charging, we invert the grid based off the first race results and go again. The overall winner from the weekend gets to choose the handgun for the following week. Rinse, and repeat!

  10. I guess it’s neat to have a bunch of different areas to “play” at, but it seems to me that the go-kart track would get boring quickly. Also, I’ll add that having trees right next to the out-of-bounds line on the court (with branches in play) is pretty friggin’ el stupido.

There are for sure better bachelor pads/family compounds for $20M out there, and you wouldn’t have to live in Arizona. To each their own, I suppose…

  11. $20 million for only 4 acres? Right up against the neighbors? No thanks.
Give me a giant property out in the sticks where I can have a much larger dirt track.

  12. From the overhead view, the port cochere combined with the white entrance walkway looks…somewhat obscene. Yet somehow it’s not as bad as the interior decor, which is a whole new realm of terrible. And shall we mention the strangely sculptural sex swing with the fluffy seat pad which will certainly need to be burned? I’m not sure this house is worth the kart track…

    1. After that comment, I had to investigate. And you are 100% correct, many features of this house need to be destroyed with fire. The whole layout seems choppy and overdone.
