If the Proclaimers really want to, they don’t have to walk 500 miles and 500 more to fall down at your door. All they have to do is hop into something like a 2024 Ram 1500 REV or a 2023 Lucid Air. Either of these cars should allow the Proclaimers to drive 500 miles in one go.
But, if they want to go more than 500 miles, just to be the men who come back home to you, well, COTD winner DDRDAN says you better hope to have a good charging network wherever you are:

Now now, that’s mean! That said, if you slapped some Realtree camo on the Crosstrek Wilderness, it could totally work as a Bass Pro Shops promotional vehicle. Truth be told, I dig Subaru’s series of Wilderness-spec cars. I beat the living daylights out of a Forester Wilderness in Oregon and the thing never missed a beat.

Bonus pro tip, tried and tested by yours truly: the song I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) will get an entire karaoke bar singing with you, and maybe even buying you drinks, regardless of which continent you’re on or whether English is the local primary language.
Related to both these comments: Scotland (and to a lesser extent, Wales) seems to be the sole reason Subaru still sells any cars in the UK. You see at least a few Subies every day in Glasgow (and in Scotland more generally), but I rarely see more than a couple a week when in Liverpool or the surrounding regions… and most of those are 2005s or older.
It’s not as extreme as what you’re seeing, but Subaru definitely has stronger markets in the mountain west part of the US and in New England. AWD in the winter and light off-roading for getting up to hiking trails and what not.
Also wildly popular in the midwest. Basically anywhere outdoor activities like camping and hiking are found you will also find many Subarus.
Can confirm Subaru is the unofficial car brand of Reno/Tahoe/Carson City/Gardnerville/Minden and so on. I am told it is also the unofficial car brand of Colorado.
